Lead Oracle Applications EBS DBA
Charlotte, NC based company needs a Lead Oracle Applications DBA. Relocation will be provided for the right candidate for this permanent opportunity. The client requires US Citizens and Green Card holders only.
Responsibilities
· Lead day to day operations and activities of an established Oracle Applications DBA team. · Engage senior level management in planning and operations.
· Manage projects in relation to DBA team activity for systems development and implementation. Create, operate and manage Oracle databases and related systems in support of production business applications and systems development work.
· Work closely with the Systems Administration team to design and operate an optimal hardware infrastructure for database systems.
· Analyze and resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other RDBMS-related issues
· Support Database and Application level Customization and help developers in tuning of custom code.
· Perform capacity management, batch job schedule management, and backup/restore functions
· Monitor and respond to database problems and emergencies.
· Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS, products and patches. Responsible for planning and implementation of all Oracle RDBMS upgrades and related tools.
· Participate in cross-functional teams in support of high availability and business continuity planning and operations.
· Assist in defining and documenting departmental standards and procedures for the Oracle environment.
· Interact with Oracle Corporation on Oracle technical issues, bugs and relevant support related matters
· Needs to provide support for various RDBMS ver. from 8i to 10gR2
· Needs to provide support for various Oracle eBusiness suite production databases for ERP.
· Assists with the logical and physical database design, implementation, and database maintenance and performance issues.
· Assists with the development and maintenance of standards and procedures, and guidelines for accessing corporate databases by both development staff and end users.
· Gathers initial database design criteria and assists with the development of the model
· Leads the data modeling and access methods definition
· May provide 24x7 on call database support.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Bachelor's degree (B. A. or computer technology) and a minimum of 6 - 8 years related experience.
· A minimum of 6 years experience as an Oracle DBA.
· A minimum 5-7 years experience as an applications administrator of Oracle ERP Application 11i or higher.
· Strong Oracle ERP Financials experience 11.5.x-R12.
· Excellent Knowledge of Windows / Linux / Unix Operating systems (OS).
· Knowledge of Unix shell and Perl scripting skills.
· Knowledge of 10g RAC & ERP APPS R12 is preferable.
· OS and Hardware Troubleshooting skills
· Patch management experience
· Must maintain leading edge changes in the technology arena
· Significant Experience in systems design and implementation.
· A broad understanding of computer systems, applications, operating systems and networks.
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
· Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Leading global telecommunications company looking for a senior consultant to advise on the expansion and competitiveness of video conferencing product offerings. Consultant will deliver multiple requirements over the next year or more. Depending on consultant availability work may be done at leisure or on set schedule. Work may be completed on site or from remote location.
